Transparent pages

Adding a transparent page is a way to make the verse you are journaling stand out.

To make this you need the OHT paper that we use to use on the overhead projector and a laser printer or copier. Alternatively, you could use vallum, however, OHT paper is much cheaper. I am a school teacher by trade and had a whole pack of OHT - Yay.

It is really quite simple, print whatever you like on the transparency with a laser copier cut to size and glue in. I happen to have a laser printer at home, but if you didn't you could always go to your local print shop. If you are in New Zealand, Warehouse Stationary prints at a reasonable price and allows single copies.

To stick it to the bible I used regular double sided tape but cut it thinner. I then lay it right at the inner edge of the page I wanted it to go over, stuck it down and shut my bible to keep it pressed.

After doing this I liked it, but I wanted to make the actual verse standout more on the page, so i used my water colours and a sponge brush to sponge on colour, leaving the actual verse free of paint to highlight it.

I eventually would like to go back and journal the side of the page.

Hi, my name is Huia Yongo. I am happily married with one child. I love writing in books and love art, so bible journaling was an awesome way to help me study God's word.

I gave my life to Christ in 2012 and have never looked back. I always knew about Jesus from a young age, but until I gave my life to Christ I didn't know Him personally.
